Supervisor John Gioia - District 1

John Gioia was elected to the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors in 1998 and represents the communities of Richmond, El Cerrito, Kensington, El Sobrante, North Richmond and San Pablo. Prior to being elected to the board, he served on the East Bay Municipal Utility District Board of Directors and practiced law in Richmond, representing small businesses and doing pro bono work for organizations serving youth. Currently he is a member of several regional commissions, including the San Francisco Bay Conservation and Development Commission and the Association of Bay Area Governments Executive Committee. Supervisor Gioia received his B. A. in Political Science from U.C. Berkeley and his law degree from Boalt Hall School of Law.
